Florida Keys Part 1

Saturday, July 26 we packed up the truck (and the boat) and headed down to the Keys.

 We stopped at a rest area to see if we could see alligators.  The first stop there were none the second there were 2.

 After 10 hours of driving (it was only suppose to be about 7) we made it to the campsite.

 There were quite a few of these crabs around the campsite that the kids loved to see.

 These iguanas also would frequent the campsite.

 Saturday night we went out to eat with 2 of the other families that came with.

 Toby is holding "Harry" the hermit crab.

 Sunday morning the guys launched the boats and we were waiting for them to get to the campsite.

 This picture is from Thursday morning after a storm came through and the anchor get loose and the boat got pushed into the shore.  With a little manpower they were thankfully able to get it out and we were on our way.

 We went to a reef called Sombrero Key that was absolutely beautiful!!  It was like swimming in a fish tank.

 We also found a sandbar for the kids to play on.  My said it was every kids paradise:)

Monday we headed down to Key West for a day of sight seeing.

 We decided to climb up the lighthouse.  Half way up all I started to think of was one of the kids was going to fall through the stairs and Toby started freaking out.  

 We made it to the top and back down very slowly!  I think we'll wait a few years before we try that again.

 Levi loved seeing all the motorcycles.

 Since we were in the Keys we had to try some KeyLime pie!!  We found this shop that had some and lots of free samples of different Key Lime items.

 They had a nice spot to sit outside and gave the kids fish food to feed the fish.

 At sunset we went to Mallory Square.

 They have different street performers and a nice place to watch the sunset.

 It was a fun but long day.
